Chris Rene's Debut Aims For Hope, Courage, & Strength
Original Article: The X-Factor USA (Official)
Back to Latest News! When it comes to thinking about what his debut record would sound like, Chris Rene is actually more concerned with what it would feel like. "It's gonna be a touch of every emotion you've ever felt in your life," Chris tells us about what he hopes to accomplish once he hits the recording studio after THE X FACTOR. "It’s kind of like," he continues, "here’s what I sing. Here’s how I feel. Let’s say if someone’s having a bad day and let's say everything’s going wrong to the point that they don’t want to live anymore and they’re about to end it, and they hear a song, and it’s my song , and that gave them hope to live another day. Boom! Hope. Boom! Courage. Strength. That’s when I’m in it. That’s it for me." Along with touches of every emotion, he wants to make music that touches on every genre too, but especially rock, punk, and hip-hop. "I rap. I sing. I do rock. I could do any kind of music. My next record will be rock and soul with some hip-hop in it," he says. His dream collaborations would include Eminem, Rihanna, Bruno Mars, Kanye West, Stevie Wonder, Eric Clapton, and Bone Thugs N Harmony. As for his immediate post-show plans, he's not sure if he's heading back up to his hometown of Santa Cruz, California, but he does know he'll be "someplace on planet Earth." (Is that next to Planet Paula, perhaps?)
