Little Mix fans left disappointed after X Factor winners release montage video for Cannonball Scenes we've seen before
Original Article: Daily Mail (Showbiz)
Back to Latest News! They've had a pretty busy time of it since winning the X Factor three weeks ago with promotional trips, interviews and signings galore. After Little Mix's debut song Cannonball went straight to number one, fans eagerly awaited the video to accompany the track, hoping to see the girls away from the stage and acting like real pop stars. But after it was released today, the reception to it was rather lukewarm after fans complained it was just a hash-job of their X Factor journey. Number one: Little Mix sing Cannonball in their music video to accompany the single - but the footage is just taken from their X Factor final performance Like previous videos from X Factor winners, it is a montage made up of various clips from the minute they were put together as a band, to the auditions at the judges' house right through to their win. But unlike previous videos, there are no external scenes of the girls, either singing in a studio, a back drop or surrounded by some romantic lighting. Instead, the entire three minutes and 33 seconds video is made up of a cuts job of their best bits on the show. They have had a very busy three weeks since their victory so probably haven't had the time record a music video. Moment of truth: The girls are led out by mentor Tulisa Contostavlos along with Gary Barlow and his act Marcus Collins However, in previous years, the three finalists would record a video in the final week, so it could hit the music channels 24 hours after the winner is announced. But instead, Little Mix fans have had to make do with black and white and slow-motion shots of the band from the show. Seems like ages ago now! Black and white footage revisits the moment they girls found out they were through to the live final And they took to their Twitter pages to bemoan the 'rip-off' video, with one saying: 'They have really gone all out in making the video for Little Mix's Cannonball #sarcasm.' And one other said: 'ok so wtf is the Little Mix video about, they haven't even filmed any extra bits this year like they usually do and it doesn't play Dermot.' Little Mix made the number one slot last Sunday but face stiff competition from the Military Wives' song Wherever You Are for the Christmas Number One. Here's what other readers have said. Why not add your thoughts, or debate this issue live on our message boards. Xfactor has gone so down hill this year! Dont get me wrong, lil mix are good but the marcus is the one with the voice! And lil mix video is a huge dissapointment not that i was lookin forward to it. it seems to me like the producers never thought this girls would win.....first off the winners single was obviously chosen for Janet as they probably thought she would win since she was favourite..........and i saw an article the other day about the contestants filming the video but didnt see the girls....didnt they film it?..bad/greedy producers ".....a hash-job of their X Factor journey" in that case the perfect video for Little Talent ... er.... I mean Little Mix! what is the suprise and shock hear.. all the winners of x factor etc... have montage videos on their first release!!! Such petty criticisms! How small-minded some people are! Little Mix are a fun, talented, hard-working group who thoroughly deserve a good career in pop Am not surpised because they are not that talented. No offence. Thats what you get for voting on popularity rather than talent. they always do that for the winners first singles because they have to get it out in time for christmas!
