Many of the groups who have appeared on The X Factor have found themselves in the popstar graveyard after failing to prolong their TV talent show fame.

But it seems One Direction are following in the footsteps of JLS in terms of their success, as they showed last night when they kicked off their UK tour in Wolverhampton last night.

The five-piece boyband, who found fame on last year's X Factor, were cheered on by thousands of female fans - both young and old - as they took to the stage at the Wolverhampton Civil Hall.

Niall Horan, Zayn Malik, Liam Payne, Harry Styles and Louis Tomlinson bounded around the stage as they belted out their recent smash hit What Makes You Beautiful, as well as other tracks from their debut album Up All Night.

And One Direction were met by a sea of screaming girls as they performed, ranging in age from cute little girls to teenagers offering 'free hugs' before making their way in to the venue.

While the boys have a long way to go before they are filling out venues such as London's O2 Arena, they are still living the life of luxury on their tour.

Apparently they were so impressed with the hot tub and sauna they had in their dressing room before the Wolverhampton gig that they are keen to have the same facilities for each stop on their UK tour.

Louis was quoted by The Sun as saying: 'That's it. Before every gig we are having a sauna or a bath together!'

While the boys looked delighted with the female attention they have been receiving so far on the tour, one person who is likely to be unimpressed is Harry's love interest Caroline Flack.

The Xtra Factor host Caroline, 32, was pictured earlier this week looking teary as she dropped Harry off for a warm-up concert at the Watford Colosseum.

But a source close to Harry has alleged the 17-year-old is keen to 'cool things down' with his lover.

The source told Star magazine: 'Caroline and Harry have a lot of fun together. But Harry has asked her to cool it.

all the haters just need to stop and think... what did you achieve when you were 19-17.... exactly - wuwdu, djnd, 22/12/2011 20:45***************Achieve?What exactly have one direction achieved?I don`t follow them but have they had one hit album?and all from winning a television show?Have they written any songs themselves?they haven`t cracked Americia or will they be remembered in 3 years time.I have nothing against them I wish them well but they have ahceved nothing to write home about.

wuwdu 20.45. Many of us have achieved enough A levels to go to university at that age and many of us have joined the army and been sent to Afghanistan. This is for starters. To get to music. Most talented musicians play around the country in almost empty venues to build up a fan base. They get back in the early hours of the morning and are out of pocket because they do not get paid. This is like doing an apprenticeship. The X Factor offers glittering prizes but at what cost.

I bet you Caroline Flack is amongst them offering free something else to Harry! - Jade, Chester, 22/12/2011 16:09 --- shes disgust me what a ped0cat.

I have nothing against Caroline, but 15 years age difference is quite big considering he is only 17. But if they are happy then people should just let them be.

I think they're allright , not necessarily something I'd choose to listen to but ok... What I don't get though is that they've released one album and yet they've got a tour, isn't that unusual?
